Mud. I felt is squish through my socks as I dragged my foot through the gravel. Wednesday night was raw in the best way possible. I was under a tent in the dark, worshipping Jesus in the mud. I love mud. It gets everywhere, even all over my dress as the hem dragged behind me. I danced in the mud and gravel with all my might, as praise was roared around me. I have never been happier to throw a pair of torn socks away. A stage. Saturday morning, I walked into Bethel’s sanctuary to dance for the first time. A five year dream was fulfilled that day. As the…

These Past Few Weeks

Hello, I’m coming at you with a fresh update. My schedule has been quite erratic, I am hoping to keep up with blogging a little more often now that some things have been solidified.  I have officially been accepted into the healing rooms dance team! I am very excited as I will be dancing with some amazing people under the pastoral care of Saara Taina. She has been a role model for me the last five to six years, and I am elated to be able to minister with her.  Healing rooms dance team ministers on Saturday Mornings for two hours. My first rotation will be Saturday, November 14th at…

Home Is Where He Is

I have been here a day shy of a month already. I have already completed my first week of school. I have already made community and friends that call me their own. I have already seen God fulfill the long awaited hopes and dreams of the past three years. And we are just getting started. I won’t lie and tell you that everything has been hunky dory the whole time. But this is home for me. Not necessarily the place I reside, but my home is in God’s will and favor. I feel it all over this season. This is me, and this is where I am supposed to be. …

Settling In

Hello! It has been almost a week since I have been on my own in California. My house now feels like a home, Redding is starting to become familiar, and my roommates are becoming fast friends.  What is Redding like? The mountains loom in the distance behind swaying pine and palm trees. It’s hot, the kind of heat that if you sit in it for too long, you turn into a shriveled up raisin. But that’s how I like it. Town is walking distance everywhere and the library is open. The people are extremely kind and have been very welcoming in every situation.  What is my townhouse like? We have…

The Great Pilgrimage

Hello! The great pilgrimage to the west was a success. I am now in the process of settling in my new home. I wanted to share a few highlights from my sixteen day road trip.   I am now adjusting to my new home. It has been fun to settle in and start to really be on my own. I look forward to the days to come. I put out more updates soon.  From me to you, -Emily Jacobsen

Down To The Potter’s House

Jeremiah 18: 1-4 the word which came to Jeremiah from the Lord, saying: “Arise and go down to the potter’s house, and there I will cause you to hear My words.” Then I went down to the potter’s house, and there he was, making something at the wheel. And the vessel that he made of clay was so marred in the hand of the potter; so he made it again into another vessel, as it seemed good to the potter to make. NKJV —————————————————————- In January, I went to a conference called Movement 2020. It was a blessing to gather in the new year with fellow believers and to see…

Defining BSSM

Hello! Today I am going share more about BSSM. BSSM stands for Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry. It is a nine month long program focused on leadership training, and transformation of the individual. Bethel is all about seeing people released into their God given identity and bringing God’s kingdom to earth. Some of their main values include love, honor, purity, and relationship. The whole focus of the school is to lead people to a place of thriving in the Lord, helping them to excel wherever God calls them to, and seeing healthy relationships and community established. One of the biggest things I am excited for is the BSSM community. In…

The Journey West

Welcome, and thanks for stopping by. I thought it only fitting for my first blog post to share about how this whole process of moving to California came to be. In April of 2018, I was in a youth service at my church. This service wasn’t particularly different than any other service that I had attended in the last nineteen years of my life. But God decided to use this night to cast vision for the next six years of my life that would forever change me. First, let me give you the run down on Bethel. Bethel is a church based in Redding, California. This said church is full…
