In His Fine Fashion

Hello all! I’m coming at you with a life update.

I’ve been back in Redding for over five weeks now, and I am doing well. I have settled into my house, school is well underway, and I am dancing a lot.

I am having a great time with school. Already Second Year is so different from First Year. Our main sessions are covering more mature and leadership geared subjects. In the last few weeks, we have talked a lot about stewardship, and living from a wealth mindset. I feel like the school does such a good job of marrying the practical and spiritual. We have covered topics such as organizing your life and goals to reach your vision and mission. While having the motivation to walk them out every day. On the other side, we have also been learning how to recognize and partner with what God is doing on a corporate level, sacrificing for the Kingdom, and walking in greater faith.

A big part of Second Year main sessions is conversations and Q&A. We have had the opportunity to ask a lot more questions, and discuss topics with our leaders. It’s exhilarating to be in a room of over five hundred revivalist students, who are wrestling in discussion with our leaders over topics like fatherlessness, the secret place, and changing ecosystems in our lives. I am learning a lot from the voiced opinions of my fellow students, alongside the wisdom coming from our leaders. It makes for a spicy school day sometimes. We are given a lot of space to brainstorm, think outside the box, and debate in an honorable way. That’s just main session.

I have also started my advanced ministry training classes. This trimester I am taking three. The first one is Redeeming The End Times. It is a Bible course. We are digging into the Bible to truly understand what it says about the End Times and Jesus’ return. I am excited to learn more in this area, since I’m not actually sure what I believe on the subject.

Next, I am doing Training And Activating Others In The Supernatural. I wanted to take a leadership course to learn how to empower others, and see them reach their full potential. So far, we have learned how to prepare to teach in all sorts of settings on the supernatural. There was a great focus in class on understanding the culture you were entering, and equipping the people you are teaching for success on a level they understand. Next class is going to be focusing on how to run a healing meeting. I am quite giddy with excitement.

Lastly, for this trimester I am in Worship Leading Through Dance. Shocker right? Although I am very involved in the dance community, I am excited that this class will have a greater focus on leading the room in worship. We will be diving into some of the semantics behind partnering with the Holy Spirit and worship team to shift atmospheres during worship. While also learning the practicals of leading a dance team.

That brings a good segue to my next thought. Dance. I have been dancing a lot. Even though I didn’t get into Bethel Conservatory of the Arts for this year, the Lord has told me that this is a dancing season. I am already in the Second Year dance community and have been dancing in BSSM worship. In addition to that, I have had the exciting opportunity to be added to the Sunday service dance team. I am very thankful for this. I also will be dancing in Healing Rooms twice a month again this year. I see the Lord’s goodness and abundance this year in my life. He has brought so many opportunities for me to dance and grow.

I also auditioned for Bethel Conservatory of the Arts’ dance apprenticeship. It runs for seven weeks and is three hours a week of dance classes. I will find out the results for that on Monday.  It would be a great opportunity for me to improve in technique and skill. Going to the audition was very redemptive for me after being denied last spring for their year long program. I trust the Lord to put me where I need to be for this season. I would love the extra training, but I know the three hour weekly commitment will be a lot for my busy schedule. Honestly, I will feel satisfied with whatever the result.

I have been very happy in my community here. Alongside my good friends from last year, I am making new connections. Also, I started home groups last week. Home group is about twenty people I will be meeting with weekly from my revival group. It will be a space for me to do family and champion others. I am thankful that there is a big emphasis on community here.

On top of all that, I am job hunting. The process has been going well. I have a couple of leads on positions that would fit my schedule and skills perfectly. I am hoping by next week to have a job secured. I was really frustrated last week in trying to follow the Lord’s direction on where I should be working. In His fine fashion, it was the next day that doors started opening for me. I am curious to see where I will land.

Anyways, that’s all for this post. I will try and write an update next week on some of my pending situations. Thank for taking the time to read about my life.

From me to you,

-Emily Jacobsen

Love to see your excitement and joy in just being there. Praying just the right job, ministry and schedule opens up for you. Be praying Ephesians 3:13-21 for this season of your life.
