Jesus is my home, but He is also my wilderness. What if I told you that Jesus craves adventure even more than we do? Well, its true. God is the Lord of all, even the unknown. The unknown parts of the world, and the unknown parts of me. As I discover Him, I discover myself. It’s this constant tension that lives in the very deep parts of my being. Wanting to know the world around me to understand myself. And God fulfills that within me.
I’m not just talking about a religion here but a real person. Jesus has a fathomless depth that could be searched for eons and never found out. At the same time He is my best friend that knows the intimate parts of my being even before I understand them myself. Jesus fulfills my wanton needs that even I don’t understand well enough to realize I have them.
Do you have a familiar smell that reminds you why life is worth living? Maybe a loved one’s scent, the smell of night air, the sea, or your favorite food. That is who Jesus is to me, a familiar smell that brings all of the hope of the world with it.
The video below is a dance that encompasses all of my feelings on this subject. I specifically wanted to share it so that Generation Z can see and be represented as trailblazers. It is time to go after something new and different. I am calling my generation to wake up. Jesus isn’t a set of rules and boundaries. Jesus was a rule breaker. Gen Z, let’s go after something that is authentic and real. Jesus was sarcastic, funny, and downright salty at times. Take time to discover Jesus for yourself and don’t be afraid of the unknown.
On another note, Wilderlove is a song I love dearly. It was expertly crafted by the artist John Mark McMillan, and his music has changed my life. John Mark McMillan goes after God with rawness and humility. He challenges me to live as my authentic self every moment of the day. I am so thankful that there are people out there to pave the way in the creative arts.
I’ll leave you with this: Don’t be afraid to go after something different and real, Jesus is waiting to take you on an adventure of a lifetime.
From me to you,
